Did you know that dogs are considered omnivores? Treat Buddy to a delicious vegan dog cookie… or two!
Preparation: 20 minutes
Cooking: 15-20 minutes
Servings: 24 bone shaped cookies
Ingredients
1 1/2 cup brown rice flour
1 cup buckwheat flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 pinch of salt
1/2 cup unsweetened peanut butter
2/3 cup fresh pumpkin puree*
1 grated carrot
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Mix all dry ingredients together in a medium bowl. In a large mixing bowl, combine peanut butter and pumpkin puree until smooth. Gradually add the flour mixture to the peanut butter cream, then add the carrot and combine. Roll the dough on a floured surface, then cut out the cookies using a bone shaped cookie cutter. Continue to cut out cookies until you run out of dough. Place cookies on parchment paper, leaving about an inch between cookies, then bake for 15-20 minutes, or until slightly golden.
* No pumpkin puree? Use apple sauce or a mashed banana!
