- 1 tbsp ground ginger
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 1/2 cup softened butter (or vegan butter)
- 1 egg (1 small ripe banana, mashed, as a vegan alternative)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Preparing the cookies
- In a medium bowl, mix together dry ingredients: flour, spirulina, spices (ground ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg), brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another large bowl, whisk together molasses, softened butter, egg, and vanilla until smooth.
